Alumnae Win $1 Million AT&T Award

For the second year in a row, Grad Film students have won the $1 million AT&T Presents: Untold Stories pitch contest. This year it was won by two alumnae, Sasie Sealy and Angela Cheng.

Their film Lucky Grandma is about an ornery, chain-smoking Chinese grandmother with a small-time gambling habit. The AT&T/Tribeca contest aims to discover and nuture talent from underrepresented communtities. Sealy and Cheng will receive $1 million to create Lucky Grandma.

Last year the Untold Stories award was won by thesis student Faraday Okoro, for his film Nigerian Prince, which is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 24, 2018.
