Monsters And Men Poster
Alum Reinaldo Marcus Green's film Monsters and Men will be playing in theaters nation-wide this Friday, October 5. The film was Green's NYU Thesis project and premiered at Sundance earlier this year to glowing reviews. There it garnered Green the Special Jury Prize for Outstanding First Feature. The film follows a young father, Manny (played by Anthony Ramos), who witnesses the police shooting of an unarmed black man, and how that event rocks their Bed-Stuy community.
Lena Waithe has called it "A powerful film. A beautiful portrait of the police and the policed." And Shadow and Act said that the film is "an extraordinary debut by director Reinaldo Marcus Green."
