Cost of Attendance

The cost of tuition can be found on the Tisch Graduate Admission website and also on NYU's Bursar’s website. Students are enrolled in 18 credits each semester (Fall and Spring).

Estimated annual expenses for Living Expenses, Health Insurance, Transportation and Personal Expenses may be found at Graduate Student Expenses.*

US citizens and permanent residents are strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to be considered for federal loans.

The department encourages creative low budget filmmaking in the program, and production equipment and post facilities are available for all assigned projects. In some cases, there are financial and/or supplies allotments available as well. Outside costs may be incurred at the discretion of the filmmaker and scale of the project (i.e. food, transportation, locations).

*Your living expenses will vary from these estimates based on whether you live on or off campus, have a meal plan, and take University health insurance during your time as a graduate student. Estimated transportation takes into account an average of one trip in the continental US during each academic year.
