The short film Goodnight Eulogy, directed by Israeli Tisch Alum Yonatan Weinstein (UGFTV '16), will premiere this August in competition as an official selection of the Academy Award-qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival in Los Angeles, screening at Hollywood's historical Chinese Theaters. A unique collaboration between an American Film Institute (AFI) production and an NYU director, this film marks the fifth collaboration between Weinstein and Dutch-Israeli Cinematographer Roi Vissel, a graduating fellow of AFI's prestigious Cinematography department, whose credits include 'Game of Thrones' (HBO) and 'TYRANT' (FX). The film was shot on 35mm film courtesy of Kodak and was supported by Panavision New Filmmaker Grant.

Shady Pines, an original Advanced TV comedy Pilot directed by Daniel Sorochkin and created by Riley Wurtz, was also selected for the festival.

Other short films selected made by recent Tisch Alums include:
Zayar
by Chriz Naing
Alientologists by Tyler Rabinowitz
The Mess He Made by Matthew Puccini
