Director Xackery Irving
Xackery Irving (UGFTV, TSOA '92) is re-releasing his first film AMERICAN CHAIN GANG with a new extended cut. The film which competed in SXSW, Nantucket, Atlanta, and Human Rights Watch Film Festivals during its initial release profiles the struggles of the inmates assigned to forced labor chain gang programs.
NYU UGFTV professors George Stoney and Lora Hays had advised Irving from pre-production to final cut of this documentary feature. The extended cut follows up with inmates' stories two decades later.
