The annual Manoogian Screenings are held at the Directors Guild theater in Los Angeles and present the Wasserman/King Award-Winning films and filmmakers from the Graduate Film Program (New York and Tisch Asia) and the Undergraduate Department of Film & Television to the West Coast. Invited guests include Tisch Alumni, Industry Professionals, Prospective Students, and more. The award-winning filmmakers are brought to LA to participate in industry meetings, alumni workshops, and events to introduce them to working in Los Angeles.
The Haig P. Manoogian Screenings were created in 1986 to honor the memory of a pioneer in the art of teaching filmmaking.
Mr. Manoogian, who taught at NYU from 1948 to 1980, was professor of Film and Television and also served at various times as the head of both Graduate and Undergraduate Division
