Edward Ziter, Chair of Tisch Drama
New York University's Joe A. Callaway Prize, awarded biennially by the Department of English, has honored Tisch Drama Chair Edward Ziter and University of Texas, Austin Professor Charlotte Canning as Best Book on Drama or Theater winners for their respective authored works.
Ziter's book, Political Performance in Syria: From the Six-Day War to the Syrian Uprising (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014), examines theatre and performace within the war-torn region and its relationship to current events.
