This summer, I helped ENTRE Film Center & Regional Archive with three main archival projects. First, I worked with the circulating media and print libraries, reorganizing and reinventorying nearly 1,000 materials while leading an initiative to replace damaged books from the print library. Second, I worked on the Rio Grande Valley Home Movie Collection, inputting transfer notes from the digitization logs of Texas Archive of the Moving Image, and reaching out to the latest 20 contributors for further information to enrich our metadata records. Third, I assisted with the Boca Chica Corazon Grande oral history project in which the ENTRE team talked with Mary Helen Flores, a community organizer and environmental activist who has fought for protections for Boca Chica Beach for years. Additionally, I helped with workshops and programming, which showed me how archival work can translate to new ways to engage with art and the community.
