Stevin “Azo” Michels (they /them) is an adjunct instructor at Tisch School of the Arts, teaching video editing and tech theory for over 30 years. They are also the Senior Area Manager for the Post Production Center at Tisch School of the Arts Film/TV program. They hold degrees in Film/TV Production, Higher Education Administration, Educational Technology and Communications, and Global Affairs/Transnational Security. As a director, producer, editor and photographer, they have several awards and have screened at Sundance, the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, the Brooklyn Museum, and the ICA London. They are currently engaged in projects that utilize technology in fostering peace, deconstructing othering, and understanding the continuums of personal beliefs that defy the dichotomous frameworks fostered on society by the media and government.
