John M Vanwyden

Adjunct Instructor

John was a recipient of the Case Western Reserve-Cleveland Play House MFA Fellowship and company member of the Cleveland Play House from 1975 – 1978. In addition to being an Associate Teacher at the Tisch School of the Arts John is also a faculty member of the Meisner Studio and Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. John has served as the dialect coach for many of NYU’s main stage productions including Dancing at Lughnasa, Pentecost, Cabaret and most recently A Map of the World. John’s coaching credits at the Meisner studio include Mad Forest, Our Country’s Good, Top Girls, Crimes of the Heart, and Necessary Targets.  At the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute John directed Once a Catholic, On the Verge, Our Country’s Good and Dancing at Lughnasa. National tours include Ragtime and Cabaret. Off Broadway: The Shanghai Gesture.
