Himanshu "Heems" Suri is an artist, executive, and entrepreneur from Queens, NY. He first received recognition as a founder of the art-rap trio Das Racist, before releasing solo releases, and joining the actor Riz Ahmed in the transatlantic rap group Swet Shop Boys. Suri has performed at Coachella and Carnegie Hall, on Conan and the Stephen Colbert Show, and across North America, Europe, and Asia. Suri has shown his artwork and performed at the Whitney Museum, the Met Breuer, the Guggenheim, Queens Museum, MCA (Chicago), ICA (Boston), Aicon Gallery (New York), and Sunaparanta, Goa (India). He has also worked at Spotify and Audiomack in marketing and music strategy for global music genres. He is the founder of Veena, a digital magazine and multi-sensory product brand focused on music, clothing, and natural products from India. Suri is a graduate of Stuyvesant High School (NY) and Wesleyan University.
