Bridging the gap between the “creatives” and the “suits,” New York University has created a Dual Degree MBA/MFA graduate program offering a MBA in General Management from the Stern School of Business and a MFA in Film & Television Production from the Tisch School of the Arts. This program gives aspiring film producers and individuals who want to become leaders in the entertainment industry the knowledge to navigate the fast-changing landscape of filmmaking and business entertainment today.

The MBA/MFA Dual Degree program partners two world-class programs: NYU’s Stern School of Business and the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film & Television at the Tisch School of the Arts. During the three year program, students pursue both degrees simultaneously.

The curriculum is rigorous and demanding. Students must be accepted by both schools and spend about half their time taking courses at each. Students work on many dynamic film projects, and most find time for internships. The overall goal is to prepare the next generation of industry leaders with the business and creative skills needed to produce award-winning entertainment.

My network from both programs is invaluable. Friends from Tisch are lifelong collaborators who have recommended me for projects and friends from Stern may be able to help find partners or funding for future projects.
