Christa Haley is an MFA candidate at the NYU Graduate Film Program. She began her career in the film industry as an assistant to director Derek Cianfrance on the independent feature The Place Beyond the Pines (‘12). She's worked in the editorial department on major feature films and television shows including Mary Poppins Returns (‘18), Harriet (’19), Magic Mike’s Last Dance ('23), and HBO’s Limited Series Scenes from a Marriage (’21). Christa’s first narrative short film Swim Captain (‘23) received awards at the Woodstock Film Festival and RiverRun International Film Festival. In her work, Christa is interested to explore femininity often through a dark analytical lens.
