Shane Ann has served as Voice Consultant/Dialect Coach for Broadway – Clybourne Park, Newsies (Broadway and touring company), Bonnie & Clyde, Mary Poppins – (Resident Dialect Coach and touring company), Mamma Mia! (Broadway, Las Vegas, and Touring Company), Spamalot, Tarzan, and The Lion King, and off-Broadway productions of Storefront Church, Stunning, Timon of Athens, Platanos and Collard Greens, The Good Thief, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, The Widow Claire; Edward II and The Duchess of Malfi for Red Bull Theater, Race for Love (directed by Lynne Taylor Corbett), “Duck Dynasty”.  And at the Guthrie Theater - A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Twelfth Night – both directed by Joe Dowling, and Antony and Cleopatra – directed by Mark Lamos, The Shakespeare Theatre (Cyrano – directed by Michael Kahn), Ford’s Theatre (The Matchmaker), Paper Mill Playhouse (Newsies, The Miracle Worker, 1776, and Steel Magnolias), Westport Country Playhouse (Bedroom Farce), Hudson Valley Shakespeare (The Winter’s Tale, Midsummer and Arabian Nights), The New York Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park (All’s Well That Ends Well, Measure for Measure, Macbeth, and Hamlet), The Acting Company (The Heart is a Lonely Hunter – directed by Doug Hughes).  Work at other theaters includes The Drama Department, Second Stage Theatre, The Vineyard Theatre and The Pearl Theatre.  Previously taught at The Public Theater’s Summer Shakespeare Lab, the Juilliard School Drama Division, the Guthrie Experience, the Sedona Shakespeare Institute, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and in NYU’s Undergraduate Drama (The Classical Studio). She has a B.F.A. in Theatre, from Southern Methodist University.  She received her voice, speech and Shakespeare training with Robert Neff Williams. Additional voice work with Cicely Berry, and Richard Armstrong.  She has studied the Michael Chekhov Technique with Joanna Merlin and Lenard Petit. In addition to her Graduate Acting classes, Shane Ann teaches a comprehensive voice, speech and Shakespeare program in Manhattan.  These private classes were filmed for the documentary television series “The Dream Chasers - Ninety Days to Hollywood.”  She is co-author (with Louis Scheeder) of All the Words on Stage:  A Complete Pronunciation Dictionary for the plays of William Shakespeare.  The dictionary is now available as an audio app at the Apple store (for iPhones) and the Google Play store (for androids). The app is titled “Shakespeare Pronunciation” and includes the audio pronunciation of over 5000 words in Shakespeare’s plays. Shane Ann is included in Marquis Who’s Who in America.
