In "Oo-Bla-Dee" Tisch Drama students portrayed black female musicians who dream of success in the world of bebop music. As they strive to find an outlet for their sound, the musicians struggle to rise above the constraints of race and gender in post World War II America. “The play encompasses huge themes, starting with the question of identity,” said stage and screen actor Delroy Lindo, who directed the production. “The journeys to establish and fight for a place in the world, on one’s own terms.”
