Throughout the Coronavirus Pandemic, there have been bouts of fake news, misinformation, and overly politicized content in relation to the illness. In a space where medical information should be true or false, news outlets provided varied information on what to believe about the virus, its origins, its spread, and ways to stay safe. Alternative right wing media claimed—and continue to claim— conspiracy; California governor Gavin Newsom claims apocalypse. While being sheltered in place in my childhood home, I collaged pieces of the New York Times to create some sort of semblance of what was happening in the world. Between feelings of displacement, helplessness, and confusion, these collages are an expression of pandemic chaos, truth, and sensationalism in both the home and media.
