"Pollution is ugly.
If the global temperature rises above the 1.5 degree celsius threshold, a tumultuous future of extreme climatic events awaits. Wildfires will incinerate our forests, endangered animals will succumb to their environments, and extreme droughts will dry up our crops. Humans are resilient, though, and adaptation is our specialty.
1.5° Celsius is a fictional body of work that explores how humans must mutate to survive the future consequences of global climate change. I have designed and developed each character to reflect how specific climate issues will fundamentally alter humans’ daily routines and lives. These characters serve to emulate an extreme and dark potential reality that could result if action is not taken. While doomists may assume it is too late to correct the damage already done to our planet, this fate is not in fact sealed. Indeed, it is within our power to alter the projected course of our future environment by slowing the rate at which the Earth is warming.
Importantly, this work is a reminder to viewers that immediate action is imperative to mitigate the current ongoing climatic catastrophe."
