"We all strive to defend and promote the autonomy necessary to live the individual life we have been chosen to live. However, this is not a contract between us choosing others. Instead, it is a gift others gave, welcoming us to step in freely to turn a single (music) note into a chord. We cannot access life because life is not just ours by nature. Therefore, life is a mechanism with which we are brought together through ""action"". We can make rules within this magnetic field, but these can never imprison life or determine it according to our arbitrariness. It is not we who give meaning to life, but life gives us meaning. Life will continue long after our single note or chord has ended. Not only because other life remains but also because our life persists in other forms. Thus, life is more significant than death. And death, even if it hurts us, never does have the last word. Altogether, we create a symphony that illustrates humans and nature, where the symbiosis of all living.
I combined hand-printing and photography to give homage to the craft and the faith behind life and history. The Mulberry paper, which could be traced back to the Shang Dynasty (1600 BC-AD) in China, combined with photos that have been documented in the recent past, allows cultures from different periods to collide. The interweaving between history and craftsmanship visualizes the preservation of culture."
