Alexandra Timmer is a New York City-based screenwriter and creative executive at Double Nickel Entertainment. She graduated from Truman State University in 2015, majoring in Creative Writing and minoring in Film Studies, Theater, English, and Art History. After graduating, she moved to New York to attend grad school at NYU - Tish where she received her MFA in Dramatic Writing in 2017. She tends to drift towards dark comedy when she writes or wants to watch something. A classmate of hers once described her writing style as, “Broad City meets Jane Austen,” which she took as a compliment and hopes it was one. She has ranked high in several screenplay competitions and film festivals, including Fusion Film Festival, Die Laughing Film Festival, WeScreenplay Diverse Voices, Orb Media Group China-Hollywood Screenwriting Fellowship, and ScreenCraft's Pilot Launch. Recently, her grad thesis pilot, Stage Five, won the half-hour pilot category for Final Draft's Big Break contest.
