Fashion magazines were my first exposure to photography. As a child, I’d cut and paste images from my grandmother’s magazines onto construction paper to construct my own. This experience, and the distinct editorial look of the late nineties and early aughts, undoubtedly shaped my aesthetic and photographic outlook. With this project, I reflect on the momentary cultural influences that so greatly informed my studies and appreciation of the medium of photography.
