I grew up in the American South, the bible belt, attending a Christian school from kindergarten to high school with bible class nearly every weekday, and attending church on Sundays. However, now that I have been living outside of that conservative bubble for a few years it has given me time to reflect on my experience with the church and given me space to figure out my identity separate from their ideals and judgment. This is my exploration that delves into the intricate tapestry of my upbringing as a Christian-Catholic and the profound impact it has had on my life, both spiritually and emotionally. I want to shed light on the often unspoken and complex experiences of faith and religious trauma, offering viewers a window into the personal journey of self-discovery and healing.
