It was a very uncertain time with very certain people. Let me introduce you to my best friends, each one so different and unique in their own right. Some of these friendships are 21 years old, which sounds like a long time considering I just turned 22. But that's just it, it has been a long time; I’ve spent my lifetime with these people. Weeks before the official lockdown in March 2020 I made a decision that altered who I am today. I secretly went to Australia to be with a man who, at the time, I thought was the love of my life. I didn’t tell anyone but my friends, and although they were not supportive of the decision, they were supportive of me. I spent six months in Australia, isolated from my family, friends, and my home, in what was possibly one of the most universally isolating times for people all over the world. When I retuned to America six months later, I was broken into a million pieces, but my best friends, who had dropped me off at the airport, were right there to pick me up along with the millions of pieces I had been shattered into. This project is about the people who remind me of my worth, and consistently push me to be the best version of myself. I realize that I’m one of the luckiest girls in the world because I was gifted with some of the best friends anyone could ask for.
