Nicole (Nicki) Yost is an interdisciplinary scholar from Michigan whose academic path has been anything but linear. She started with a BS in chemistry and a minor in dance from Alma College, moved on to a MA in social sciences, concentration in history, with a certificate in gender and sexuality studies from the University of Chicago, and is now pursuing another MA, this time in performance studies at New York University.

Her research focuses on how performance can be used as a method for public history. While the past two years have taken place working at a rare cancer nonprofit, Nicki stayed connected to performance by volunteering with her high school theatre company and forensics team.
