Assistant Professor

Description

The NYU Department of Performance Studies is seeking applications for one tenure track Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2023.

The field of specialization is open, but we especially welcome candidates who put live performance (broadly understood) into contact with one or more of the following areas: practice-based research; transnational Asian American Studies; Black Studies; theatre, including musical theatre; performance, media, and technology; queer and trans of color critique.

The Performance Studies department at NYU was rated #1 in the most recent national NRC ranking of Theater and Performance Studies Ph.D. programs in the United States. Qualifications

Ph.D. in Performance Studies or a related field required.  NYU is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we welcome applications from historically underrepresented minorities.

Duties include teaching four courses a year, graduate and undergraduate student advisement, and participation in developmental and school-wide committees.
