Lydia Brawner

Lydia Brawner is the current Andrew W. Mellon Curatorial Fellow at New York's Performa. During the completion of her dissertation, she was full-time visiting faculty in Art History at the San Francisco Art Institute and has served as an editor at Women & Performance: a journal of feminist studies, SFAQ/NYAQ/LXAQ, and Performa Magazine. Primarily concerned with contemporary performance art and it's intersections with both technology and American religious culture, she serves on the advisory board of the Center for the Arts and Religion at Berkeley’s Graduate Theological Union and was named a visiting scholar at the 2017 TBA Festival at the Portland Institute of Contemporary Art.  In addition to her current work at Performa, she has programmed and curated performances at institutions including KADIST and San Francisco’s The Lab.
