Margherita Arco grew up in the United States, Germany, Belgium and Austria. After receiving her BA in Anthropology and Russian from Columbia University in New York, she worked in finance, first in Austria and then in North Carolina. Deciding that filmmaking was a better way of telling stories then crunching numbers, she made a short film with which she was accepted into the graduate Film program at Tisch School of the Arts.  Currently, she is completing her M.F.A.

Margherita wrote a feature script, “The Salt of the Earth”, a family drama set in the vanishing world of small farming in her Bavarian hometown, with the intention to direct it. Among other written work, she has developed a historical, dramatic TV-series “Our Country”, a finalist at NYU’s Fusion Film Festival as well as a comedy TV-series “Aurora Farms”, a quarter finalist in the NexTV writing competition.
