Kevin Q. Ewing provides administrative support for the Kanbar Institute of Film and Television of Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. A graduate of the New School for Public Engagement (‘15), Kevin is a writer and multimedia content producer who muses over cultural anthropology, queer theory, and performance studies. His interests have lead him to explore the ways in which gendered, racialized, and sexual identities are negotiated in marginalized communities. Before coming to NYU, Kevin served as Managing Editorial Assistant at the award-winning journal, Social Research: An International Quarterly, and most recently as the Program Coordinator for the Digital Humanities Initiative. Ewing’s first writing on queer visibility in the changing landscape of hip-hop culture, “Soft, Ratchet, and all Cakes,” was published in The Tenth Vol. 2 (2014). He currently resides in New York City.
