Days of the Jaguar

Simon Ong

Logline: Boarding school can be tough for anyone. But incoming freshman Jacob will find things particularly difficult as he tries to escape the shadow cast by his wealthy donor grandfather and live up to the expectations placed on him — and, of course, none of this is mentioning the 200-pound Jaguar that is silently stalking him throughout campus. As Jacob becomes more and more obsessed with this elusive feline, he’ll struggle to balance his academics with his personal life, sending him into a downward spiral that will only make him easier prey for the hungry hunter.

Bio: Simon Ong is a writer, director, and performer from the sleepy town of Hudson, Ohio where he grew up on the campus of an independent boarding school, living in a faculty residence attached to a boys dormitory. Picture growing up with thirty-odd older brothers but there’s a new batch of them every year. Through his work, Simon seeks to take his midwest background and use it as a lens through which to expose the superrealities that exist in our normal, everyday reality. Cosmic interlopers, talking animals, global conspiracies; all this (and more!) exists beneath the surface of our world, and Simon hopes to peel of the veneer and reveal to his audiences the marvels that lurk below.
