La Marr Jurelle Bruce is an interdisciplinary humanities scholar, cultural and literary critic, black/Black studies devotee, Bronx native, first-generation college graduate, and Associate Professor of American Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park. He has published work on black expressive culture in such venues as African American Review, American Quarterly, The Black Scholar, GLQ, and Social Text. His first book, How to Go Mad without Losing Your Mind: Madness and Black Radical Creativity, debuted in June on Duke University Press. The Afromantic, his second project, will yield a cultural history, critical theory, aesthetic expression, and existential assertion of black love amid and against antiblackness.

Fred Moten works in the departments of performance studies and comparative literature at New York University. His latest book, written with Stefano Harney, is All Incomplete (Minor Compositions/Autonomedia, 2021).
