DESCRIPTION:This talk examines what I refer to as ‘Quarantine Soul,’ music produced of a group artists – Dinner Party, Tobe Nwigwe, Moses Sumney, Lianne La Havas, Jay Electronica, Ego Ella May, and Samora Pinderhughes among others – that both anticipates and responds to the crisis of isolation, precarity and vulnerability imposed by White Supremacy in the midst of a Global Pandemic.” Mark Anthony Neal is James B. Duke Professor of  African & African-American Studies and Professor of English, and Chair of the Department of African and African American Studies  at Duke University.
