Peter Nigrini works primarily as a projection designer for theater dance and opera. In the previous season on designed Dear Evan Hansen, Amelie, and A Doll’s House, Part 2 on Broadway, Wakey, Wakey at the Signature Theater, and Lucia di Lammermoor for the Santa Fe Opera among others. Other recent designs of note include Here Lies Love at the Public Theater, for which he won the first Drama Desk awarded for projection, and also at the Public TheaterGrounded for which he won the first Lucille Lortel awarded for projection, Real Enemies (BAM Next Wave), Notes from Underground, (Yale Rep), The Grace Jones Hurricane Tour, Blind Date (Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance). In addition to his work as a projection designer he is the sole designer for Nature Theater of Oklahoma; some of their previous works include: No Dice, Romeo and Juliet, Rambo Solo and the multi-disciplinary work, Life and Times The for which won the company an Obie. Currently Peter is working on several new musicals including Ain’t Too Proud: The Temptations, and The Spongebob Musical, as well as a new production of Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice, and a new play by Claudia Rankine.
