Robert Glasper brings to NYU Tisch an innovative and eclectic musical style and has worked with a wide variety of musicians including Mos Def, Q-Tip, Kanye West, Meshell Ndegeocello, J. Dilla, Jay-Z, Talib Kweli, Slum Village, Questlove, and Maxwell. A jazz musician by training, his recent credits include serving as music supervisor for Miles Ahead, the recent feature-length biopic starring Don Cheadle as Miles Davis; and performing in and producing Kendrick Lamar (To Pimp A Butterfly), as well as collaborations with Erykah Badu, Bilal, and Stevie Wonder and others for Everything’s Beautiful, an audio/visual meditation on the influence and interpreted legacy of Miles Davis. He is currently in the studio with producer Terrace Martin and Herbie Hancock, working on Herbie’s new album, and performs on Anderson Paak’s latest, Malibu. Glasper’s own albums include Mood (2004), Canvas (2005), Double-Booked (2009), Black Radio (2012), Black Radio 2 (2013), and Covered (2015).
