Ayanna is a native of Trinidad and Tobago and a New Yorker at heart. Before joining NYU, she worked at, and earned her BA in, Political Science at York College. York College is one of the smaller CUNY colleges with a community of only about 6,500 students. At York, she began as an Enrollment Officer and Recruiter for their SEEK (Search for Education, Elevation and Knowledge) Program, an HEO program that supports educationally and economically disadvantaged high school graduates. She later moved to the Office of Student Development and was the “division creative” for all newsletters, flyers, posters and brochures for the 11 departments in the division.
More recently, Ayanna was an Administrative Aide in the Department of Art History here at NYU. During her time there, she provided a wide range of administrative support including coordinating faculty searches and tenure & promotion reviews as well as serving as the Global Scholar liaison for visa matters.
As an Administrative Coordinator at the Clive Davis Institute, Ayanna serves as the faculty liaison. She coordinates services and provides assistance for all full-time and adjunct faculty, assists with curriculum management, and administers the student internship program.
