Cali Green is an accomplished project manager, producer, event director, publicist, and writer/editor. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, she began her career as a freelance entertainment journalist before progressing to arts and entertainment PR & marketing.
After moving to New York in 2008, Cali added artist management and event production to her repertoire, before also serving as Managing Editor and Director of Social Media for Okayplayer, the entertainment website founded by Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson. Most recently, her list of clients has included film director Ryan Coogler, The Roots' Black Thought, comedian Hannibal Buress, actor/rapper Daveed Diggs, writer/performer Rafael Casal, musician/composer Samora Pinderhughes, and DJ/rapper Raydar Ellis.
Cali’s passion for the intersection of the arts and social justice has led her to serve as a member of the organization Blackout for Human Rights. In 2015, she managed talent and helped them to produce Justice for Flint, a star-studded fundraising event honoring and benefiting the community of Flint, Michigan. As a volunteer and Team Leader for organizations including New York Cares, Blind Service Association, Boys & Girls Club, and the YMCA, Cali has taught workshops and long-term programs in writing, drama, music, and literacy. She has also been sought after to moderate or appear on panels at various events including Women in Hip Hop at the Apollo Theater (moderator), Soul Music NOW at Harlem Stage (panelist), and the A3C Music Festival in Atlanta (panelist).
