Congratulations to the following Tisch Asia filmmakers:

  • Lia Johnson ('12) whose 2nd year film American Refugee picked up a best short award at 2015 Cambodia Town Film Festival.

  • Alle Hsu ('15) whose 2nd year film Sophie has been officially selected for the Austin Film Festival 2015. Alle's adaptaion, The L (拉)Market screened at the Palm Springs Cinema Diverse LGBT Film Festival.

  • Sam Morgan's ('15) A Proud Woman will be competing in the Heartland Film Festival this year.

  • Whitney Howard's ('15) Brother is an official selection in the 2015 Bronzelens Film Festival.

  • Uta Arning's ('10) Snowchild is heading to the East Coast in conjunction with Bar Harbor Film Festival

  • Kimie Tanaka's ('13) Hide and Seek had it's international premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this year, after a world/national premiere in Short Short Film Festival (Japan, June). It will then have a European premiere in Message to Man Film Festival (Russia, September), and has been selected in Aichi Woman's International Festival (Japan, September). It will be screened at the Bali International Film Festival (September), Vancouver Asian Film Festival (Canada, October) and Sapporo International Short Film Festival (Off Theatre, Japan, October).

  • Honey Singh ('15) has been accepted in the 2015 National Association of Latino Independent Producers - Diverse Women in Media Residency Lab for her feature film script. Read More

  • Jordan Schiele ('11) recently completed post on his first feature film in China!

  • Jordan's short Turtle has qualified for submission to the Oscars. Turtle (Wu Gui) and 5cm will screen together at Bar Harbor Film Festival on October 10th and 11th. Read More

  • Turtle will also play at Chicago International Film Festival on October 24th along with Atsuko's Oh Lucy and Martin Morgenfeld's The Broken Past. Read More

  • Screening in Taiwan will be on November 1st in 'Shorts about Sex' Read More

  • Jordan's lead actor Kampot was awarded Best Actor at the Encounters Film Festival out of hundreds of films by Mydylarama. Read More
