INDIVIDUAL CAREER COUNSELING AT TISCH
Individualized 15- and 30-minute career counseling is available by appointment, and are held via phone or Zoom. In-person appointments are also available to current students only:
- Current full-time Tisch majors can schedule appointments to discuss the job or internship search, career goals and planning, networking strategy, mentorship opportunities, or interview skills. Students can have as many appointments as they feel necessary, subject to scheduling availability. Please note that if you are not a full-time Tisch student (including Semester at Tisch students and NYU students taking Tisch Open Arts classes), please visit the NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development for your career counseling needs.
- NYU Tisch Alumni who have graduated within the last 5 years can schedule unlimited career counseling appointments, subject to availability. Access to career counseling sessions is only available to NYU Tisch Alumni who have earned a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree from Tisch. NYU Alumni who have Tisch minors but were granted full degrees from other NYU schools (e.g. Steinhardt, CAS, Gallatin) are not eligible for counseling - please use the career services at NYU Waserman instead.
- For NYU Tisch Alumni who have graduated between 6 and 10 years ago, career counseling appointments are limited to 3 sessions per academic year. Access to career counseling sessions is only available to NYU Tisch Alumni who have earned a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree from Tisch. NYU Alumni who have Tisch minors but were granted full degrees from other NYU schools (e.g. Steinhardt, CAS, Gallatin) are not eligible for counseling - please use the career services at NYU Waserman instead.
- For NYU Tisch alumni who have graduated more than 10 years ago, career counseling appointments are limited to 3 sessions within a lifetime. Access to career counseling sessions is only available to NYU Tisch Alumni who have earned a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree from Tisch. NYU Alumni who have Tisch minors but were granted full degrees from other NYU schools (e.g. Steinhardt, CAS, Gallatin) are not eligible for counseling - please use the career services at NYU Waserman instead.
To schedule an appointment, log into your Tisch College Central account at www.collegecentral.com/tisch and then select "Appointments" from the Dashboard to see available appointment slots and book a time. Please note that open appointment slots appear on the Tisch College Central platform on a rolling basis so if you don't see any available slots in a given week, check back later to see if more have been added.
Note: After your appointment is booked through Tisch College Central, you will be sent a Google Calendar invite within 1 business day. This invite will be sent to the email address listed on your Tisch College Central account and will contain additional details (e.g. the appointment Zoom link, if that's the format you've chosen). When you receive it, you must select "Yes" to confirm your appointment. If you DO NOT select "Yes," your appointment is not guaranteed and may be cancelled 2 business days prior to the appointment date. During our busy season, wait times for an appointment can be up to four weeks. For time-sensitive career questions (e.g. job/internship applications), we strongly encourage you to utilize our Express Chat services. No shows and last minute cancellations contribute to TOCD's long wait times so please be considerate of your fellow Tisch students and alums by keeping your appointments or releasing them in a timely manner.
