No where else in the world can you find the range of disciplines in one school. Over the last 50 years as we forged new programs, built our home in New York and expanded to our global academic centers, institutes emerged. Each are built with shared values, common goals, and a priority for putting students first. The result – a place where artists and scholars create the future.
Visiting students and non-majors are invited to take classes during January Term, Spring at Tisch, and Summer. Earn credits towards your major or minor, build your résumé with an internship, or take classes to change careers. Come be inspired by New York City and our international sites.
The Office of Special Programs at Tisch School of the Arts provides access to the arts. Whether you’re an NYU or visiting college student, high school student or working professional, we provide you with the introductory exposure to the performing or cinematic arts and the advanced-level training to grow your craft.
We invite students, faculty, staff, and prospective students to join the Department of Performance Studies for our annual Day of Community event! Begin the day with yoga at the Department of Cinema Studies. Then, come pamper and beautify yourself at our volunteer-run Beauty Salon and Photo Booth. After getting your beauty on, join us for a screening of Glenn Holsten's Hollywood Beauty Salon, followed by a brief decompression and informal discussion.
PhD Candidate Taylor Black will also be hosting a Cryptoparty! Cryptoparty is an informal skill-share where we pass on knowledge for digital privacy and security to anyone who needs them. Bring your laptop and smartphone and learn to use and share tools and resources for personal privacy, digital security, and data awareness, like password managers, encrypted texting, and best practices for protests. If you're worried about targeted advertising, Equifax, or Google, but don't know what to do, keep hearing about that Signal app, or want to know what's so tricky about sending secure email, this is the workshop for you. Please bring your laptop, smartphone, and any questions or tools you want to learn to use. If you are a data researcher or privacy tool enthusiast, feel free to bring your favorite tool and introduce it to others. Please contact Taylor with any questions at email@example.com.
