A young transgender woman follows her dream of becoming a nun, but she struggles with her faith and trying to fit in with the other women in the monastery.
Originally from a big Nigerian family in Columbia, Maryland, Ife Olujobi is a recent graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Dramatic Writing. During her time there, she concentrated in both playwriting and screenwriting, as well as also studying music composition and theory, sound art, and performance. In her free time she loves watching television, listening to podcasts, and reading graphic novels. In her work she’s largely inspired by sound and race/gender/performance theory, and strives to incorporate multimedia, movement, and alternative storytelling methods into all of her work. She recently had her first production of a one-act called Only as part of NYU’s inaugural PlayGround Festival of New Works. Though writing is a solitary art, she loves collaboration so please get in contact with her about her writing or any other artistic endeavor!
