André Smith is an art adviser, strategist and producer. Coming from 9+ years of blending story, strategy and tech, across content, print, digital, video and immersive activations--he curates high touch experiences. A Webby Award nominated talent, he has produced three short films, with one of them credited on IMDb.
In his graduate fieldwork he interns at Creative Time in the Programming department and works as a Teaching Assistant to RoseLee Goldberg.
With a curatorial practice focusing on art intervention for awareness and social good, André has checked some boxes over the years with SFMoMA, adidas, AmEx, Live Nation, Soho House, NeueHouse, Big Think, Gavin Brown's enterprise, Interpublic Group, Qualcomm and 1stAveMachine... to name a few.
A 2018 MA candidate studying Art Politics in the Art & Public Policy Department at NYU Tisch, his academic advisor is the artist Karen Elizabeth Finley. André is a departmental scholar and Fletcher Foundation Fellow, with a 3.8 GPA. Keen to explore, research and contribute to efforts around social impact, audience engagement, design thinking and sustainable practices, he has professional interests in CSR and public art.
