Peggy Gormley is an actress, writer and independent producer, who is currently partnered with James McCaffrey at Ships in the Night Films, an independent film and television production company.

Peggy has acted in numerous films and television shows including The Last Temptation of Christ, Thirteen Conversations About One Thing, Sleepy Time Gal, The Squid and the Whale and 100 Centre Street, working along the way with directors Martin Scorsese and Sydney Lumet. Peggy is a lifetime member of the Actors’ Studio and studied acting with Stella Adler and Penny Allen and directing with Elia Kazan and Arthur Penn at the Actors’ Studio Playwrights/Directors Unit.

Peggy was Harvey Keitel’s producing partner at The Goatsingers. There, among other projects, she served as executive producer of The Grey Zone directed by Tim Blake Nelson and was also involved in the production of the Sundance Film Festival award-winning film Three Seasons, directed by Tony Bui. Independently she co-produced the award-winning short film Torte Bluma, directed by Benjamin Ross and starring Stellan Skarsgård.

Peggy graduated Magna Cum Laude from Albright College and has an MA in English from the Bangor University, Bangor, Wales, UK. She did her thesis on the poetry of William Butler Yeats.
